British Values

Here at Whitby Heath Primary School, we enable students to develop their self-knowledge, self-esteem and self-confidence.

We ensure that students are able to distinguish right from wrong and to respect the civil and criminal law of England. We also encourage students to accept responsibility for their behaviour, show initiative and to understand how they can contribute positively to the lives of those living and working in the locality of the school and the wider society.

We enable students to acquire a broad general knowledge of and respect for public institutions and services in England.

We ensure that our children have further tolerance and harmony between different cultural traditions. Our students acquire an appreciation for and respect for their own and other cultures. This encourages respect for other people and encourages respect for democracy.

British values is woven throughout our curriculum and our daily school lives. It raises an awareness and a social conscience of these values within Britain as well as on a global scale too.

Have a look below at how we link British Values across the curriculum and our school.
