Swimming Gala
8 children represented Whitby Heath at the recent primary school’s gala at the EPIC. Mrs Armour and Mrs D. Bell were so proud of all the swimmers, not only for taking part but also for their sporting behaviour! Results: The boys’ relay team qualified for their final and came 5th. The girls’ team also qualified and won gold the final, along with the ‘overall best girls’ team’ award…two new shields for Whitby Heath! Individual successes came from Olivia Bell winning gold in the backstroke and Nia Jones winning silver in the breaststroke. What a successful team: Daniel Ward, Michael Wood, Isaac Morris, Kyle Ward, Herin Jin, Olivia Bell, Nia Jones and Elle McGeady.
Indoor Athletics – Winners!
The Indoor Athletics team attended a competition against 5 other local schools on Friday 6th February at Stanney Oaks Leisure Centre. There were some fantastic individual performances but most importantly, they performed outstandingly well as a team…bringing home the gold medal! Since then they have competed in the final against other local winning schools, coming a very respectable 5th place against some very stiff competition! What a team – we are so proud J

Sword Fencing
The recent KS2 sword fencing club proved to be very popular and successful - we will definitely look to run another club again next year! The children learned the basic skills of sword fencing with all the proper equipment – how exciting! Well done to all these children for achieving their Bronze Award: Ruby Milne, Maddy Marsland, Saffron Smith, Kacper Herbut, Jessica Turner, Ben Crompton, Ruby Wilson, Olivia Biddlecombe, William Boden, Roxy-Louise Percival, Leigh-Louise Percival, Sebastian Salmon, Nathan Edge, Megan Earps, Shaun Cook, Evie Davies, Natasha Plunkett, Rhianna Feenan, Libby Griffiths and Nathan Jones.
Football Tournament
The Year 5/6 football team took part in a tournament at the Liverpool FC Academy on Wednesday 4th November. The boys did extremely well. Playing eight games in total, against tough oppositon from around Merseyside, the team finished in second place. The fantastic display from the boys, has meant that they have qualified for the regional finals, back at the Liverpool FC Acadmy in March 2016. Well done do all the boys who took part; Joshua Henry-Reid, Loius Kellet-Hackett, Elan Breen, Michael Wood, Jaydn Arathoon, Brandon Glover, Alfie Davies & Liam Jones.
